South Yorkshire is taking bold steps towards a sustainable future with the launch of the South Yorkshire Net Zero Project Pipeline. This ambitious initiative, valued at £2.6 billion in July 2024 and expected to grow in the coming months, features 33 innovative projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions as well as driving social and environmental outcomes and economic growth.
Key projects include domestic retrofitting, electric vehicle infrastructure, and a transformative £2.1 billion heat network. Led by 3Ci and Connected Places Catapult, in collaboration with four local authorities, the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and the private sector. This pipeline addresses investment barriers, fosters regional collaboration, provides technical assistance, and secures additional funding.
