New webinar "Financing net zero neighbourhoods in the UK: An integrated approach"

Attracting private capital is essential if the UK is to meet its decarbonisation targets. 3Ci calculates the size of the financial challenge of achieving local net zero is over £200 billion for London and the UK’s 11 core cities.

This webinar, hosted by RICS, will discuss how the 3Ci initiative aims to integrate local net zero projects into compelling investment opportunities by creating scale and long-term certainty for investors. It will also examine how the initiative aims to reduce housing’s carbon footprint, one of the biggest sources of emissions in the UK and complicated by the mix of housing types and tenures in neighbourhoods. Additional topics include increasing local prosperity through decarbonisation and case studies from participating neighbourhoods.

3Ci Membership Scheme Gaining Momentum

Our membership scheme for the private sector to engage in our programs and activities is now six months old and gaining significant traction. We have hosted two dedicated events, including a roundtable with the former Mayor of Bristol and a site visit to the Net Zero Neighbourhood at Somers Town in Camden.

Since our initial Patron Members joined, we have seen expansion, and we are continually seeking more companies to participate and reap the benefits of increased profile, networking opportunities, and aiding Local Authorities in their pursuit of achieving Net Zero in their respective areas. Our official members include Arup, Jacobs, Harworth, KPMG, Mott MacDonald, and NatWest.

In addition to members participating in our activities at UKReiiF and London Climate Action Week, we will soon confirm the next series of City roundtables and site visits. Please contact Ian Binns for more information.
